THE TET FESTIVAL
The Tet Festival, the most important celebration of the year in the Vietnamese-American Community, marks the beginning of the new year. This Lunar New Year marks a time of renewal and rejuvenation; it is also a time to remember our loved ones and ancestors.
Each Lunar New Year is associated with one of twelve Zodiac animals, which are commonly associated with certain personality traits. As topics for conversations and reading of fortune in the new year, these Zodiac signs, when read with one’s birthday, can carry significant and sometimes humorous meanings. 2020 is the Year of the Rat. The Rat is associated with prosperity, the ability to adapt to turn events in their favor, and good luck.
Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do is happy to invite you to join him at the OC Tet Festival, taking place at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley on January 24, 25, and 26, 2020.
The OC Tet Festival will host live entertainment, authentic Vietnamese cultural performances, exciting carnival rides, games for visitors of all ages, an exciting firecracker lighting ceremony, stunning lion dances, a bountiful variety of authentic Vietnamese food, and excellent beer and wine selection. Visitors will have an opportunity to experience the Vietnamese Cultural Center, where visitors will be transported to some of the most iconic landscapes from different regions of Vietnam. These exhibits also make an excellent photo opportunity.
Little Saigon in Orange County has become a destination for thousands of visitors from around the World, who come here to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The OC Tet Festival is a wonderful cultural and entertainment event, and it is open to everyone.
